New Gardner Kansas Junction Park is set to open soon. The park marks the junction of the Santa Fe, Oregon and California Trails.
Creation of the park took several years and the partnership of nine local, state and national organizations, including the National Park Service, the Santa Fe Trail Association, the Oregon & California Trails Association, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), the city of Gardner, the Gardner Museum & Historical Society, the Kansas City Area Historic Trails Association, the Kansas State Historical Society and the Johnson County Museum.
The park is located at 56 Highway and 153rd Street and set to be a prototype park for future parks along the traiks.
